EFCC Breaks Silence After Popular Actress, Helen Aduru Was Reportedly Beaten Up By Their Operatives

The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) has spoken up following an allegation of assault against them by Nollywood actress, Helen Aduru. Recall that the popular actress had shared a video of herself several hours ago, battered and bruised in which she called out the EFCC for breaking into her apartment in Enugu state and beating her up.

However, the anti-graft agency in a statement on Saturday, described Helen’s post as false and misleading. The statemen which was signed by the commission’s Head of Media and Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren, denied the allegations, saying that it is a mere publicity stunt.

They published thus on their social media handle:

“The attention of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has been drawn to an online video trending on Instagram, from the handle of a certain “@Iamhelenaduru”, a self-styled actress, purporting, quite mischievously, an assault by operatives of the Commission. Such a scene could only stand on a typical Nollywood fiction series. Members of the public are enjoined to ignore Aduru’s claims. EFCC’s officers are not assaulters or terrorists.”
